The weather wasn't great (about 50-60 degrees) but it was nicer than New York and it was nice to get both of you outside. See the moon?
We did a couple of fun activities down there. The first stop was a train exhibit in the retirement community that granny and grandpa live in. It's run by a bunch of retirees that have taken up train building as their retirement hobby. There you are with grandpa on the left.
In case you don't remember you LOVE trains. You say "Choo choo" all the time.

The next day we drove up to see Meteor Crater. Sophia didn't come. She enjoyed staying at home with granny. It was very desolate on the way up.
If you blow this picture up you'll see some rocky part of land sticking up on the flat landscape. To the left of that is a smaller upcropping. That's the crater.
Here you can see it closer up as we drive up the road from the highway to the crater.
And here's part of the meteor. Most of it melted and vaporized upon entry but this is the largest chunk they found that is intact. It's about the size of a medium small dog.
And here is the crater. It's hard to get a sense of how big it is but it's big. Those people are at the enge of the crater and down in the center is an area where the guy who found the crater tried to find the meteor (of course it had vaporized). But that mining area is quite large.

It was quite qindy and cold up there so we didn't stay long.
When the meteor hit it created a lot of heat and energy. These rocks on the side of the crater are partially melted and indented by the debris shot out from the impact.
On the way back we took a different route through Sedona which was just beautiful. Gorgeous rock formations and colors.
We also took a trip to the zoo. Sophia came this time.

Again it was a little chilly so we bundled up.
I'm not sure what this animal is called but they had it well caged up so it couldn't hurt anyone.
Simba (from Lion King) was there. He seemed pretty bored.
And Pumbaa too.
Everyone seemed to like the monkeys the best.
Sophia is a little scared after looking at the boa constrictor.
One night we also stayed in a hotel so you guys could go swimming. We had a nice view of the resort and sunset and some guy playing bagpipes below. Sophia finally got to see a kilt because she didn't believe that guys wore skirts.
We went down for a swim but it was cold and the water was a little chilly too.
You guys tried again the following day and it was much nicer.
And this pool was heated too.
And finally we went to a big train park. They had a train big enough to ride on. Steam powered and everything. I'm not sure what they were burning to steam the water though. Maybe natural gas?

It was a short ride but you loved it.
And then the rest of the time we spent at granny/grandpa's house. They had lots of toys for you.
They bought this one especially for you Caden.
We did go for pizza one night. Again Sophia stayed home. It had a few rides and games for kids.
We were a little cheap and instead of putting money in we rocked it by hand.
Here's Sophia doing what she did all weekend . Laying on granny's bed and watching TV. I think you were both a little sick so we let you do what you wanted.
