We had a fun Saturday today. Sophia has been a good girl lately with her potty training. She is almost fully potty trained. Each time she goes potty she gets a little treat. Two treats she received recently are a bubble maker and a kite. It was a nice day out today so we put them to good use.
Even daddy had a go since I don't recall getting any treats when I was potty trained.
And mommy had another bubble maker. You just squeeze the belly of the pink bear and a bubble maker pops out.
Then we went out near the edge of the water where it was windy and set up the kite. It flew pretty well.
Sophia even got to fly it all by herself.
It's a nice pretty spot to fly the kite with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background.
You were a little sleepy but you woke up to watch the activities.
And of course you were anxious to get out as soon as you realized everyone else was having fun.
Then we headed over to the waters edge and played on the rocks for a while. It was a bit dangerous but I held Sophia's hand as we climbed the rocks.
You took it easy because you are still learning to walk. But you are very close.
And some flowers in the park had started to bloom. But we headed to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden after this to see some serious flowers.
This is in front of the Brooklyn Museum. They have a great water sculpture that spits out water at various intervals. The kids loved it.
And there were lots of cherry blossoms. Lots! It almost felt like it was snowing there were so many petals coming down.
Inside the gardens there were lots of flowers. But Sophia only really likes pink and purple flowers. She thought these were purple pansies because she reads a book with purple pansies. But they were some other kind of flower. Perhaps you'll only like blue flowers.
Then we walked over to a little Japanese garden. There was a little house and deck on the edge of a pond.
And of course lots more blossoms around it.
And what was in the pond? Koi or Japanese carp. Sophia liked the black ones.
You and Sophia hung right over the edge to see them.
Then we wandered over to the indoors part of the garden but we didn't go in any of the buildings. Instead Sophia started running away all the time and I had to go hunt her down.
There were lots of tulips (and photographers in this section).
And Sophia shared an ice cream popsicle with mommy. Mmmmmm good.
After that we went to a great new Japanese ramen soup restaurant (Ippudo) in the city for dinner and then went to a Korean frozen yogurt place (Flurt) for dessert. And by that time it was almost 8pm so we headed home. On the way back there was a crazy cloud formation over the water. It was like a big undulating blanket.
