On Thursday afternoon, Mommy’s college friend Kate and her two daughters, Sadie (3) and Hattie (20 months) drove down from Santa Barbara for a swimming playdate.

After swimming, we grilled hot dogs and chicken at home.

Sophia had lots of fun running around the backyard with Sadie and Hattie – here she is making silly faces in the big windows.

On Friday morning, we drove to the Santa Monica Pier.

While we waited for the rides to open, Sophia had fun in the playground – look at her hanging like a monkey!

While Girlie fed you a bottle, Sophia and I walked down to the water – cute profile shot of Sophia looking out at the waves!

And of us!

At 11AM, the carousel opened and Sophia rode it three times – she could spend hours riding the carousel but we had to be home by noon since Girlie had a lunch appointment with her goddaughter.

While Sophia napped, Mommy’s high school friend Lisa and her husband Rob dropped by to say hello and to meet you.

At night, Mommy’s college friends Molly and Tanya also visited us – while Girlie watched Sophia and you at home, we went out to dinner at a cute restaurant called Ford's Filling Station in Culver City.

Girlie starts her vacation with her family in LA tomorrow afternoon, so we're on our own for a few days before we fly to Minnesota on Wednesday morning.
