Tummies & Legs

A little commentary on you in your first days:

Here's Mommy's belly the day you were were born. I think her belly looks bigger than when she was pregnant with Sophia but Mommy thinks it is about the same size.
Most people have commented that you look like me. You even have the same haircut as me!
To us you seem scrawnier than Sophia when she was born. But I think it's all perception. We still think of Sophia as being tiny but you are significantly smaller than she is right now so you look super duper tiny. But you don't look much scrawnier than Sophia in this picture. She's a little chunkier and her head is rounder but not by much. She also has a ton of hair compared to you. This is a picture of both of you when you were born. You decide.
And yet look how tiny your legs look in this picture. That's my finger so you can see the size. Your hands and feet are blue because the blood is mainly in your torso. And your big toe looks more like a monkey toe at this point. It doesn't sit flush with your other toes (although it does in this picture). Rather it sticks out like a thumb would. Your Granny claims all the men in our family are born with scrawny legs.
We visited the doctor today. You weighed 6 lbs and 15 ozs so you've lost some weight. That's normal. You also have some bilirubin or jaundice which is also common. This makes you yellow. Bilirubin is the byproduct of your cells breaking down. It's what makes bruises yellowish and your poop brown. I wonder if anyone has ever named their kid Billy Ruben?
