We were supposed to meet some friends at the botanical garden this weekend but there was a mixup as to which garden it was. We went to the Bronx one and our friends went to the Brooklyn one. Oh well. We still had a good time. Well you did. Sophia had a rough day.
We walked around the gardens. I was struck by how quiet it is compared to where we live in the city. It was a nice break. We also hopped on a train (really just a set of connected transportation trolleys with real wheels, but we called it a train for you) that took us all over the gardens.
We stopped at the Rose Garden. It was in full bloom and the whole garden smelled unbelievable. Sophia mentioned that it smelled like lotion. I told her that really lotion smells like a rose garden.
We also stopped at the kids center where you got to plant your own tomato plants and color in some pollinators (birds and bees) and make puppets out of them.
After that we headed over to Arthur Avenue to grab a bite to eat and then headed home. We were all pretty tired.
