Seattle - First Week Back to Work

I went back to work after Labor Day - my maternity leave of 3 months just flew by! We returned from Minnesota on Sunday afternoon, and then you and I flew to Seattle on Tuesday afternoon. Sophia was a bit upset when we left for the airport because she was left at home with Girlie and Daddy. When she was a newborn and still breastfeeding, I used to take Sophia with me to Seattle; now it's your turn to travel with Mommy.

When we landed, we drove to Som and Tanya's house to meet their twin girls, Rhea and Aarya. They were sleeping when we arrived and slept the entire time we were at their house. Tanya's mom and grandma loved holding you - you were a big flirt smiling and cooing at them. Tanya's grandma did not want to let go of you, but Som managed to pull you away to feed you a bottle of breastmilk.
Tanya was amazed how big you have grown since the birth announcement photos - you looked HUGE compared to their twin girls. On Wednesday morning, I dropped you off at daycare and went to the Massive sales offsite. After work, we had a relaxing night back at the hotel. We both needed to catch up on sleep.

On Thursday after the Microsoft Company Meeting ended, we met some friends for dinner at the Beach Cafe in Kirkland - it was a gorgeous day to be outside near Lake Washington. Sandy and Rich had their second girl, Daphne, in July; Daphne's big sister, Sadie, was asking for Sophia. Bummer that she was not in Seattle with us on this trip. Susan and Zoe also joined us for dinner (Michael was on a business trip in China). Sophia would have had fun playing with Sadie and Zoe. Maybe we will plan another trip to Seattle with the entire family so that we can visit all of our friends who have had more babies recently.
On Friday afternoon, we also dropped by to meet David and Becky Aronchick's newborn son, Henry, who is two months old. Cute shot of Henry and you on the couch - look how much bigger you are!
